Intention Setting Guide

A. The "Why" of intention setting:

  • A way to empower you; to individualize your experience

- Important that the intention really fits for you

  • An anchor for the meaning making process during the session

- Especially with the stance that the medicine unlocks the inner healing intelligence

  • An anchor for you in the moment and to reflect upon in the future

- The intention often crosses over to an intention in life

B. A formula for intention setting can consist of one of the following verbal requests:

- Help me

- Show me

- Teach me

In combination with:

  • a difficult emotion (fear, anger, guilt, sadness, shame, joy) or

  • an essential quality (peace, love compassion, connection - essential human qualities the we might have become disconnected from, through challenging life experiences)

For example:

  • Show me - my fear

  • Teach me - about love

  • Help me - experience joy
